Walking into a tavern recently, I was quite surprised to see almost everyone in the place using e cigarettes. While smoking traditional cigarettes had been banned long ago, many public establishments had been hesitant to allow the use of electronic cigarettes as well. Most restaurant and tavern owners had reported a drastic drop in revenue since the smoking ban went in place and now seemed to be trying to accommodate smokers by allowing the use of e-cigarettes and when chatting with one bartender, I was told that once they allowed the e-cigarettes to be used in the bar, they were able to lower the cost of their menu items and drinks. Everyone had raised prices to try and make up for lost business, but it seemed that for most, they lost more business that way. I know I wasn’t too happy to find meals in my favorite restaurants had increased by 20% or more and have no problem with the policy allowing the use of e cigarettes at all.
